I am trying to understand how an advertiser on my website will track conversions. In most cases a conversion is the advertiser selling a CD.
I know that there are ad servers that provide this info and code, but the advertisers have zero knowledge of tracking a campaign, let alone how to put code in to track their campaign and conversions.
Also, most link to Pay Pal to sell to their consumers, or a 3rd party merch site.
I am trying to understand how I can possibly help my advertisers track conversions.
Google gives you a conversion tracking code which you paste into the HTML of the "thank you" page for your sale, subscription, or lead. Now Google AdWords will report cost per conversion for each keyword so you can determine which keywords convert for you.
